On Saturday night me and Claire went to the Sparth House Hotel for the annual presentation dinner for the ELTTL. This is an event which I have never attended in previous years because I basically lacked interest and mainly had never won anything of any significance within the league. However earlier this year I had won the Hyndburn Open Singles event so I was obliged to turn up.
Even though the event was pretty costly in my eyes the roast meal was surprisingly good and I enjoyed the evening. I sat along side my uncle Jack and team-mate Mat. After the meal there was a short music spot which wasn’t the best band I’ve ever heard, hashing up some classics in a horrific way. The awards ceremony itself did not drag on and I was pleased to receive 5 awards in total.
- 2010 Closed Men’s Singles Winner
- 2010 Closed Men’s Doubles Winners (me and Kamal Hussain)
- 2010 Division 1 Winners – Burnley Boys Club
- 2010 Division 1 Merit Runner up
- 2009 Division 2 Merit Runner up
I also received a Burnley Boys player of the year award from the club. Even though I usually dislike any kind of awards ceremony I found it really helpful to see a reward for the effort I put in to get better at table tennis last summer. My main goal for this season is to make a real dent in the premier division with over 60% on the merit table. Lots of work to do this summer though.

I had a lovely time, really proud of your achievements :] love the blog!
